I’m delighted and proud to share the fair and sensitive words of journalist Fabien Ribery about Erell Hemmer’s book Why am I unable to visit my father’s grave? published by Macaronibook.

“One may not be able to visit the grave of a loved one, but succeed in constructing for him, in an artistic form, a superb tomb. From the slides of her father, François Hemmer, and from personal images, his daughter has imagined, in collaboration with Camille Carbonaro, a book made of white spaces and long silences.”

Very pleased to see the words of journalist Fabien Ribery which aptly describe Martin Gallone’s book La Cambuse published by Macaronibook.

” A son looks at his father, traits of are transmitted, the face of one is the reflection of the other, without being the double. In order for the bereaved child to fully accomplish his individuation process, it probably required the intermediary of art, and the great shuffling of images of a life.”
